Community leading the Vulture restaurant activities at Nam sang township in southern Shan state

On 21st to 27th January 2024, the Hai Hpak Biodiversity Nature Conservation have communicated with the local people and conducted the Vulture restaurant survey at near the Hai Hpak village in Nam sang township, southern Shan state. The Hai Hpak group was comprised with the local people who is interested in environmental conservation by BANCA and is going to represent both Vulture and biodiversity conservation in southern Shan state in future. This community – based organization have led the Vulture restaurant activities at Nam sang township in southern Shan state by the IUCN – CEPF funding. The main objective is to know the Vulture population status at Hai Hpak village by providing the carcass for Vulture species in restaurant activities. The Hai Hpak CBO members incredible recorded totally 58 individuals: 2 individuals Red – headed Vulture, 22 individuals White – rumped Vulture, 18 individual Slender – billed Vulture and 16 individual Himalayan Griffon at the last survey day on 27th January 2024.
